I see a lot of negative feelings between US and UK folk, and it is something that genuinely baffles me.
I will say again something I said on another video:
Without the UK there would be no US. Without the US there would be no UK.

Allies? Umm, what kind of "allies" say "it's not our war", exactly? Next time you're in a fight and your supposed-best-friend says "Well, it's not my fight", remember - that's how much of an "ally" the USA really is. They're not allies, they cowards that come into a fight late to try and steal the glory, then spend 70 years telling each other they "saved ass".

@si276 The Americans didn't arrive in any real numbers until September 1918 (after the Germans were broken and in retreat) and led just one near disastrous offensive in the last weeks of the war in which they had to be bailed out by the French. Their main contribution was panicking the German high command into agreeing to an armistice earlier than they would have, the offensive that actually broke the German army was led by the British and French.

Yeah, mabye, we wouldnt have collapsed in an instant (Like many yanks think).
But who knows what the war would have without America and/or Russia no on our side?

@mwillis1000 It was something similar with WWII. Most of Europe was occupied, but the Royal navy had the English channel secured, the RAF had the skies secured, defences were growing and rationing was going very well, with Dig for Victory in full swing. If the Americans hadn't have joined, the UK would be fine, and the Russians would have still single-handedly won the war.
If the Russians had stayed allied with Germany, however, even if the US joined, the allies would have lost.

As an American ... we do realize our kinfolk ... UK is mom ... she will always be the mom watching over us ... and our pesty bro .... Canada .... we will always be fighting with him to garner mom's attention ... then our younger sibs ... NZ, AU and the "other" ones ... what was Dad doing back then? :)
