@lrover03 You're speaking of the federal Capri(the ones sold in North America), which used the Mk I body style in 1974, whereas the Europeans received the Mk II in 1974(which came to North America in mid 1975 as a 1976 model). The continental Euro market got the 2.0L V-6(whereas the British got the 2.0L ''Pinto" 4 cylinder engine) in the 1974 Capri. Our MkIIs received the 2.3L "Lima" 4 cylinder(a developed version of the "Pinto" 2.0L)

NOT A V6 ITS A 2.0 V4
these engines came in ford corsair and ford transit mk1

@lrover03 I had a 2.6L solid lifter engine in my 73. The 1st thing I did was scrap the Webber 2-stage 2 barrel carb, replaced it with a big Ford/Holley 2 barrel carb. That mod knocked more than a half second off of my quarter mile time.

Hate to ruin your day, but the 74 Capri's had a choice of the 2.0 *4cyl.* or the 2.8 V6. The 72's and 73's sported a 2.6 V6. :))
