People need to support USA goods buy American made goods. Dont have the mind set of the 70s and 80s. That it cool, rebelish, to just not care and buy foriegn goods. Many of our polititians & media would have you believe this, they're in the back pockets of many foreign companies And just like sheep many people follow them. Dont be a sheep help American workers out be Patriotic buy and look for USA goods in stores and on line We can not wait and be sheep to paid off polititains

We're not going to let them break the unions back! We've worked too hard for these companies! That $73 and hour also includes the pension funding as well as health benefits to our retirees and surviving spouses. That's all rolled into that 73 an hour. Costs the much newer transplants don't incur. Cuts are one thing, decapitation is another.

The UAW President is being deceptive. He's talking about "wages" but not "total compensation".

UAW workers make $74 per hour in total compensation (wages + benefits + bonuses), compared with about $48 per hour (wages + benefits + bonuses) for the workers manufacturing foreign cars in the United States. We poor taxpayers should NOT subsidize the UAW workers' $74 per hour total compensation!

uh no.. the new uaw worker makes about 14.95 an hr from the 2006 agreements. labor cost only make up 10% of the cost of the car. you have to factor in shipping, gas, insurance, debt/ratio to market trends, and parts that come from various companies that would also fall if these companies fall. not to mention the money the gov will pay in increase unemployment benfits and medicaid claims will cost the tax payer 100X more than what they are asking for now.

And your point is still mote because if you want to add benefits, manditory overtime, and bonuses which a lot of people get onall sorts of jobs union or not then most middle class people make around 50-75 dollars an hr. U think its fine for the tax payer to pay for foreign companies to move here give them free land, little to no taxes & their countries dont return the favor to us? its ok for us to not have benefits for we can give money to countries that provide there citizens with benefits?
