I'm thinking about getting this for note taking in school.
Will the brightness/gloss be a problem? (indoor, fluorescent lamps)
How is the fan noise compared to the hp mini 311 and eee 901?

@alexkrat92 My eeepc lasted 1,5 years. The battery lasted 20 minutes in the end, end by running out of power unexpectedly my harddrive got damaged. But I did use it daily en got quite some usage out of it.

what should i buy? an asus netbock with 1,6 gh and with a gma video card or an asus net. with 1gh(c-50 amd) with radeon HD ?? im a nobb...

i think i might buy this for note taking and simple task. i kind a fell for it. tired of carrying my macbook pro 13inch its really heavy for college student like me, especially when i also need to carry my book around

@Vanai235 The 1001P series have both a matte black and white version. In the US the 1005PE also comes in a matte black (no textured pattern like on the 1001P series or like my 1005PE)
