What are those little things on the sand that look like shrimp?

do they always hide and only come out in pitchblack? mine only comes out at like 3am when the tank light is off and the lights in my room. :( I never get to see him. I see all kinds of youtube videos of them yet mine will hide all day and only come out when its pitchblack, I have had mine for a month and seen him twice and he will go hide as soon as the lights come on :(

@0NEVERHIDE0 might be a bit late but i had the same problem with my old ones so then i built them a cave out of rocks for them to hide they came out heaps

I had six of these fish and a Betta they were fine then I got a red clawed crab thinking they would be fine but I turn the light of for five minutes to let the crab get used to the tank and I fine one of the six fish perfectly skinned from head to tail and the crab still in the same place any tips?
