Learning guitar like this is hard against the nature of playing guitar! you won't know how a real guitar, which is acoustic, feels like! BAD IDEA!

@takamineegeric I agree that you wouldn't want to only use the video game as your learning tool. But there are many things that the game will teach you.

@glennfabian yes - but the squier guitar is discontinued. Rocksmith is probably a better choice at this point for learning guitar.

I really like how music games are starting to shape up. I'd LOVE to get the game and a squier pro guitar as it can be used as an electrical guitar outside of the game,right? Well anyway I imagine it's more expensive than a regular electrical guitar(especially in my country). I only have guitar hero games but I do play classical guitar(began 1 and a half months ago but hope to get seriously better and eventually buy me an electrical guitar).

If you actually want to learn guitar, the best way is to get one of these guitars plus both Rock Band 3 AND Rocksmith. They compliment each other perfectly. Think of Rocksmith as the game that explains everything in and out while RB3 is for extra practice. ;) That's how I do it!

@stargirl101ify "tighten"? Anyway, yes, you have to tune the strings if you want to play the guitar as a real guitar with an amp. If you are going to play it on RB3, then no, you don't have to tune the strings, because it doesn't use the sound of the guitar to do its detecting thing. That's Rocksmith.
