Tim J Spencer's "Berlin" (the Musical) is a love story set amidst the backdrop of the life and times in Berlin culminating in the triumphant conclusion on November 9th 1989, the night the Berlin Wall was finally opened.
This song is in the second half and has the three members of the family singing of their separation and the longing from it. Gustav is stranded in West Berlin, Elin, his wife, is in East Berlin, and Joshua has only just discovered his true identity and neither Elin, who believes Joshua died at birth, or Gustav, knows of their child's existence.
This version is from the 2006 production in Coventry. The musical is now available for performance by all groups from www.greenpandatheatre.co.uk
In this production the part of Elin is played by Sarah Tuson, Gustav by Nick Goodwin and their son, Joshua by Kevin Wing.
