Military expert Pierre Sprey, the founder and designer of the F-16 & A-10 Warthog airplanes, Explains why the f-35 will not cut it on the modern battlefield.
@zedeco Some missiles were fired but they all failed. For the most part, they fired missiles first because contrary to what this guy says, BVR radar guided missiles worked very well in the Persian Gulf War. That was over 21 years ago. The technology has improved exponentially since then. Think about it, your cell phone today has more computing power than a jet from the 70s/80s.
@reashot this was before the introduction of the DAS system, and before many other new improvements, not to mention LockheedMartins bad luck with incompetent production managers. the F-35 was never intended to be a VLO aircraft, it was always intended to be as LO as possible, however it was never expected to be as stealthy as the F-22. and the autocannon was always a GAU-22 for the US, and the European equivalent for the export models. and yes the price of the F-35 has risen to about $120million
@hotpocketpoison The original price of the F-35 is around 60 mil all 8 country were led to believe that they were buying plane around that much, now how is it even possible the price went up to 150 mil+ not including weapon system. How can you compare the PAKFA & the KFX with the JSF system if it still in production, not to mention their performance data is still in their native language. The JSF already cut corner by changing the plane from VLO to LO & replace the Autocannon.
Its nice to see all of wannabe youtube engineers who know more about fighter jets than a man who helped build F-16s and A-10s. Forget Lockheed Martin, Obama should hire all of you to build the next generation fighter for USAF.
@NosferatuAaacaado the F-22 has RWRs with ranges that the russians have never even demonstrated the capability of producing, and the AN/APG-77v1 outranges the Irbis-E, it can also track over twice as many targets at once and has better jamming and anti-jamming features, and much, much more(not to mention SUPERIOR stealth technology). and both aircraft can pull sustained 9+G turns, 3D TVC is practically useless in combat, 2D is all that is needed to maintain a superior level of maneuverability.
@reashot if you think all 5th gen "doohickys" are the same than i dont even understand why i am arguing with you. just because two aircraft are of the same generation DOES NOT mean they have the same capabilities. compare the F-15A with the Su-27. the F-15 had superior electronics IN ALL FIELDS despite being designed almost a decade before. russia is nowhere NEAR the US in terms of technology, the cheap price of the Pak-Fa proves they cut corners to keep the price down, this NEVER turns out well
@hotpocketpoison The F-22 is great there is no doubt about it, the plane has no problem when being build, the only problem is after the plane is build (high cost, maintenance). F-35 is flyaway is cost is predicted to rise even more

@hotpocketpoison
'the technology in the Pak-Fa(and most likely the KFX)are years behind the F-22' - This is hillarious. Which universe do you live in?
'F-22 still has a better radar' - a lie
'similar aerodynamic performance to the Pak-Fa' - also wrong.
