During this week's Central/Southern Ontario tornado outburst, the Canadian HAM Canwarn network proved very beneficial not only to emergency services/ Environment Canada but to me, personally, as a listener: I was able to avoid an area minutes from me I was about to travel into, that was heavily damaged from a spotted funnel. Cheers to the Canadian HAMS that make Canwarn/Ares so effective.
We miss Dave Knight greatly at WX4NHC. He was a great Hurricane Ham Radio operator and we wish Dave all the best.
