i find it funny when Christians call Islam a violent religion when they don't remember Christianity's violent past. I bet most of them don't even know that Islam and Christianity are just branches of the same tree. Let's just get rid of all religion and make the world better. Religion is a cancer on our planet, it justifies in people's heads their hatred and crimes. Religion is counter productive, it holds back education which holds back the future of this planet. Religion is a crutch for the weak minded and bigoted. Faith cannot be considered an excuse for people's actions any more.

Religion is abused by the narrow minded, but that does not mean that it has not achieved anything. The Enlightenment was largely due to the inquisitive way of thinking brought about by Christianity, and the Renaissance was conceived with religion at it's centre.
