If you dont think that this is stack and tilt, compare to mike bennett (stack and tilt inventor). I think you'll see that it is.

As a player who has taken lessons from a stack and tilt instructor (Nick Clearwater), this is definately a stack and tilt swing. I think many people have a misconception of what stack and tilt is. The stack refers to staying "Stacked"(centered) over the ball on the backswing and the "tilt" refers to turning your sholders on a tilted plane and not level with the ground. It has nothing to do with leaning towards the target.

Agree with most here - that is not Stack and Tilt. It is also why Will hits it a bit longer than the tour average - because it's not.

some punk kid telling me a guy plays stack and tilt with NO TILT WHATSOEVER and i dont know what im talking about...?
HEY MORON...HE DOESNT TILT OR EXTEND HIS SPINE, THATS MY POINT!
by the way one planers stay centered just fine without the tilting or flexing of their spine...
as long as i look half as foolish as you sound i think i'll be just fine...douche bag
-
@naflack Crap, sad thing is you have no idea what you are talking about...the only way you can stay centerd is by tilting and extending the spine..Get a clue so your dont look foolish.
-
if someone declares this a stack and tilt swing then they are declaring that one plane and stack and tilt are the same.
they are not the same and you cant have it both ways.
-
thats crap and you know it.
there isnt even an ounce of tilt to his backswing, his spine stays completely centered. regardless of who is teaching him, the above is a one plane swing.
your argument doesnt have a leg to tilt on...lol
-
@naflack Plenty of tilt, just overloads his #4PA (left shoulder) this is from when he was working with mike and andy
-
not stack and tilt, wheres the tilt, there isnt any...
closer to one plane swing.
What is right or wrong for the top professionals has little bearing on my game. I am at my own (very low) skill level and also have my own physiology (strengths/weaknesses, joint angles, etc.)
The S&T is not for everyone, for sure. I also agree with your comment about 'stacked and balanced'. I found that keeping myself balanced over the ball for the entire swing produced more consistent results. I was out in 110 degree weather yesterday and was sticking the irons. 190 yards, 6I - boom!
