Htc legend is a pretty solid device:D

It would be obsolete because of features.

Sounds like APPLE!

My razr has lasted me 4 years or so... It's one sturdy phone I'm guessing.

This man speaks the truth. Technology is an incredible money and time suck. A great example of the deterioration in quality is when Lenovo bought the Thinkpad line from IBM; as soon as Lenovo took over, they cut manufacturing costs and quality went down. Flimsy laptop covers, cheap, plastic cases, everything is designed to break and to push you into an upgrade. The point about 'perceived need' is spot on, as well.

I like this video...a lot to think about.
I've been working in the phone industry for almost a year now, and I see what you're saying.
I've had a Curve 8330 for 10 months and other than a sticking trackball here and there, I have never had a problem with it.
I also have had a Sony Vaio since April 2006, managed to spill a cup of water on it TWICE, and this thing is working better than ever.
Say all you want about Macs, but Sony makes a great computer. And RIM makes ultra-durable phones!
i just noticed you smack your lips everytime you pause in a sentence.. now that i notice it its driving me insane
