At Home Skin Tag Removal
A skin tag is a benign growth that protrudes from the skin, often the result of frequent and excess friction of the skin. It often occurs between the folds of the skin, and although painless, it can become irritated. Skin tags typically do not require removal unless they prove to be a major aesthetic issue. There are several ways you can attempt to remove your skin tags at home.
Home Treatments
A doctor may remove a skin tag is through a process known as ligation. He will tie a small thread around the root of the skin tag, cutting off its blood supply and effectively killing it. This process can be attempted at home using a small piece of dental floss.

Another possible treatment is cryotherapy, or freezing the skin tag to the point where it falls off. Although this is best performed by a doctor, there are over-the-counter cryotherapy options, such as Dr. Scholl's Wart Removal. Although primarily used for wart removal, they can have the same effect on skin tags.
Amoils
SkinTagHelp.com offers an all-natural method of removing skin tags without any pain--amoils. Applied to the skin tag with a Q-tip, the medication causes the growth to fall off or flake away. The ingredients are said to be a mixture of "natural oils," though the website does not delve into any specific detail. Amoils are not invasive and cause little to no side effects, yet their efficacy is based primarily on anecdotal evidence and user testimonials.
Warnings
Before you attempt any home treatment for skin tags, be sure to discuss with your doctor the risks and possible complications associated with an at-home treatment normally performed by a licensed physician. Natural treatments found online are seemingly harmless, though people some may experience adverse reactions to the oils in the ingredients. Discuss with your doctor the safety of these methods before using them.

All other methods of removing skin tags, such as through surgery or electrocautery (burning them off), could cause potential complications if not done under the supervision of a doctor.
