No,it's because in 1999 version drums jammed all the other instruments,and it's pretty hard to hear solo guitars.There is a big disbalance in mastering.And there is no acoustic outro.

They're trying to adapt to the new music scene and attract new listeners. But if they stuck with the sound they knew. they would still do good and maybe better because of demand for new stuff. Opeth changed but oh my god it was probably one of the best things ive ever heard

I stand by my statement.A lot of metalcore bands do sound a like At the Gates,Arch Enemy and In Flames with breakdowns.

If you dont like the Hardcore form of Gothenburg sound,thats your problem not Mine.

In Flames, Morbid Angel, Pestilence, Metallica, Dimmu Borgir, Unleashed, Kovenant, Satyricon, just to name a few. The list of bands that went from awesome to utter, utter crap is long. Most people would put Arcturus in that list too but tbh I find their avant garde progressive awesome, if not a little hit and miss, especially on the vocal duties :p
