  • What should I do if I get writer's block or have a hard time comming up with 2 examples used to support my point of view? Some of these topics are unepected and you have very little time to choose and side and argue it.

  • Prepare two examples that are pretty stretchable and usable for any topic. An example of a stretchable topic is War. War has its negative effects on humans, but also accelerates growth and development of economies. It is an example that can be used for almost any essay prompt. So you have to find a few examples before the exam that are able to be stretched for use in any topic. It's not as hard as it seems. Make sure you have a strong stance on your side of the argument.

  • How can I improve my critical thinking and vocabulary?

  • @rossthegreatess The best way to improve your critical thinking and vocabulary is to complete timed practice exams. I think the more timed practice exams you do, the more you prepare yourself for the real thing. Many of the questions are the same concept--just in a different context.

  • Where there any essay prompts that you weren't prepared for? If so, how did you deal with them?

  • @Jettisonedsoul93 Yes, there are always prompts that will be very unique and different from what you expect. The best thing to do is to read sample essays to get an idea of how people mold themes around prompts. I actually ended up writing about the same topic for a few essays with different prompts. I learned how to mold a topic to fit almost any prompt--it's a great skill, but it requires practicing your writing. Good luck!

  • I got to say this video was really helpful. I watched it a month ago before taking january essay, and it really helped me, especially the essay part where connecting concept in the paragraphs was discussed. I did a lot of writing in the essay because your tips helped me prepare for it, so thank you so very much.

  • This helps a lot

  • I'll be writing the Sat's again this year, and I'm really nervous. On the last one, i got a total of 8 on the essay, and when reflecting back on it, I realized that it is difficult for me to start off the essay, and then provide examples that the readers would approve of. Basically, I want to impress the readers with what I can provide in the paper, but I consistently worry throughout the duration of the time given to responding to the prompt, that I end up hitting a wall while writing. Any tips

  • Thanks, this has been really helpful! :)
