This is a recording of me, a person who was born blind, beating the 5th boss in Zelda: Twilight Princess.
This is also an honest attempt at proving my blindness, as you can now see my face and the controller. Thanks to my best friend, Desynk, for helping with the camera and bringing me to the location of the boss fight.
She also helped angle my head and body for optimal camera performance.
This fight is done blindfolded (using a scarf as a blindfold). I do have another of me doing it without the blindfold, though it will not be up before November 17 or 18th 2007 at the earliest, as I forgot to download it off Desynk's camera.
Notice my eyes before I put the blindfold on. Apparently, they don't focus directly on things, and they don't always stay opened. As I only have about 4 months experience with this battle, my strategy is not perfected. I still have trouble telling where and when the ice blocks will fall, and whether or not I'm free from the circle of ice.
I find that the best thing to do is be hit when she lands, that way you don't get hit by that 2nd attack she does; this positions you to strike her.
I had a couple of missed attacks at the end, but over all I feel I had a good battle.
I apologize if you have any trouble hearing or seeing anything. The video recording on the camera is not the best quality.
Please feel free to comment, let me know what was done well, what could have been done better etc.
Feel free to post your opinion, regardless of what it is, but please insure that what you say is not outright slander. If you are skeptical, there are ways to voice that without being overly hurtful.

  • aww, congratz and I hope in the future there will be a way to fix your problem. Your eyes are beautiful, and you're pretty cute too, just wish you could read this yourself :(

  • Well your wish came too late, there has been a way for blind people to read Windows for years, please read my channel as I requested in this video's description.

  • hi im legally blind i can tell you hes not faking he is blind. good job glad u put this video up to show ppl that blind ppl arent retards

  • "Legally blind" is quite vaig, how much vision do you have (if any)?

    Thanks for the comment.

  • The fact that you had the blindfold (scarf) on is proof enough for me. (i can still tell your blind in the video though) Anyways you have my respects.

I wouldnt be able to find the way out of my house at the beginning of the game if i was blindfolded =P

  • LOL it's ironic you mention getting out of your house, because we just conquered that yesterday. We're trying to figure out the goat herding bit.

  • Sometimes vision can be a distractor, making things harder. By removing sight and relying on other senses, you may actually be able to do some tasks (such as fighting this boss) more easily. Coordinating based on different inputs and removing distractions can be very useful. Blindness can, in some cases, be an advantage.

  • And it's only for acquired blindness... If you are blind from birth (like the guy in this video) it most likely won't work. The occipital lobe must still be able to process input.

  • I can't imagine how insane it would be to be able to see after being blind your whole life. Especially to be able to experience the video games you've been playing for years without sight.

  • First and foremost I apologize for not being able to email you and taking up your personal time due to my email being finicky at the moment. That being said I really enjoy seeing how you play. That being said I have a question, how do you plan for when something happens to throw you off? An example would be maybe clipping into an object and not actually going as far as you meant to. From what I have seen you avoid or fix this rather well so I am curious as to how.

  • @dangerous9111 Well, I'm not blind myself, but a lack of sight lets you focus a lot more on other things, like memorization.

  • how do you know where every button is and where every item is? thats awesome

  • A couple of questions. Have you been blind since you were born? If so do you know what colors look like? If not, how did you become blind?

  • who ever disliked this video needs to hangthem selfs, this is fucking epic

  • Your eyes are beautiful. I hope no one ever bothers to try and get you down, because i think you already know you're amazing. I swear if i could give you one of my own eyes, i would. You deserve them more than I do. Know that you touched a girl's heart with her favorite games and your beautiful eyes. Hugs and kisses from Mexico!
