Is the fabric supposed the stretch? I went ahead and follwed the tutorial. Elastic thread in the bobbin and regular on top. Shirring came out beautifully. However, when I gently pulled the shirred piece there was not stretch at all.

must the fabric be elastic?

Number one. THANK YOU for showing the back of the fabric! I was SURE my bobbin wasn't working right, but my elastic looked just like yours! Number two, we have the same iron :) lol

thats a brother sewing machine!! did you bring the elastic thread's up from the bobbin holder, like we usually do before sewing? not sure if am clear, the step we do to bring up the bobbin thread between the presser foot and the feed dog by pushing the needle through the hole?

Can you use any sewing machine to use elastic thread?
-
I have this machine and cant find my manual can you do a tutorial on how to make a button hole!?!?!?

I just did a dress with 4 rows of shirring at the neck and arm (the Portabello Pixie Claire dress) and I followed all the steps in your tutorial, but the shirring didn't end up really tight at the end...could it be that the tension wasn't tight enough at the outset? Can I go back and add more rows of shirring and hope for a tighter outcome? Do you have any other suggestions? Thanks! This is a helpful video!

Thanks for sharing what I like most is that you have a normal machine, not the most expensive in the world. Its like several I have. Have you tried metallic and heavy threads in bobbin? Your video help me loads. I want to do things, but am afraid I may hurt the sewing machine with decorative thread. But if it sews elastic in bobbin I think other threads may be okay. Thanks.
hi , if i don't have elastic threat?? so how can i make this fabric plz tell me.

@MrMrsimran
You could try using regular elastic with 3 or 4 zigzag stitch rows per elastic band and stacking the elastic bands from top to bottom. But I would definitely recommend using elastic thread. You can buy it at JoAnn's in the elastic section or pretty much any mainstream fabric store.
Good luck:)
