Stage 11 brought us back to the only stage we finished at the 2008 Olympus Rally before we rolled and destroyed the rabbit. So as to remind us of our previous difficulties, the front motor mount bolt broke on this stage, allowing the engine to jump around in the engine bay and ram into various things, including the radiator fan. The plastic blades of the fan snapped off in the impact and we chose to run the next stage at the back of the line so as to avoid slowing down any competitors when our car overheated. However, the car made it safely back to service where the fan and motor mount was replaced. Even with the broken motor mount, we finished the New York stage 4 seconds in front of our rival Cody Crane, taking another Gp2/2WD win and finishing 4th overall.
We finished the event 1st in 2WD/Gp2 both days, 6th overall day 1, and 4th overall day 2. This came despite numerous mechanical breakdowns including a melted shift linkage, a broken motor mount destroying the radiator fan, a severe oil leak, and a broken front strut. In the spirit of rally, we pressed on regardless and finished our first event in the new car respectably.

Sweet stage guys! Looked like the road was super loose in the off grip gravel. Do you have any idea where the motor mount broke?

Thanks Roger! The motor mount probably about two miles in. It's hard to tell from the video, but in the car, the difference was pretty pronounced. You can first hear some of the squealing as the car deals with the engine motion at about 2:03 in the video.
