全方向踏切警報灯

一畑電車とJR山陰線との共用踏切"一中踏切"に設置されている踏切警報灯です。
見た目は透明なランタン状でとてもオシャレかつ斬新です。

赤色の高輝度発光ダイオードを表裏に敷き詰めた半円形の基盤を120°の角度で３枚突き合わせ、360°の視認範囲を有する発光体が円筒状の透明カバーに納められています­。
あらゆる方向から視認可能なので、線路と隣接して平行する道路がある踏切などでは閃光灯を千手観音みたいに設置する必要がなくなります。

ここは、JRと一畑(ICHIBATA Railway company) の2つの会社の線路が平行しています。

線路は別々の単線となっており、それぞれの会社の列車は自社の線­路上を走行します。

黒い表示機には、JR or Ichibata それぞれの列車の方向が矢印で表示されます。

白い表示板には、踏切の名称、区間、管理者、連絡先電話番号が記­載されています。

We had an idiot in Denver. Westbound train on closest track crossed.

Moron goes around the gate because he cannot wait the few seconds for it to go up.

Eastbound train on the other track hits and kills him. Imbecile could not comprehend that another train could be coming? Duh!

Another awsome vid. That's why I love the Japanese people...soo smart. Anyhow, the 2-2way lens system (for both main and side road) is a very inavated idea. This cuts time of instauling another group of lights on the same pole (post). The LED's are way better than the old light bulbs. I wish that more of these ideas can be thought about here in Canada.
