Very good review. I only watched the E.T. special edition once since it came out,I will have to watch it soon to see the effects again. I remember some of the new stuff,but mostly the old stuff.

I've been in many of those marketing meetings where these dum-ass ideas come up. You can smell it a mile away but this is how execs with limited ideas justify their existence. But here we are talking about ET...maybe not so dumb?

E.T. was the first movie I saw in the theaters. I think I was 5 years old. Still remember it to this day. One of the best.
As far as this re-issue bullcrap...I totally agree with you. STOP messing with classics. I'm tired of seeing all these stupid remakes such as Halloween, Friday The 13th, etc. All they're doing is trying to make these classics more "hip" for the newer generations. If they remake "The Breakfast Club", I'm a be real pissed. I think this world is becoming "Idiocracy."
