This was an awesome PR set. My previous best was 525x1 done a few months back. I'm not sure how much more I had in me cuz it felt really heavy. I did three heavy sets, starting with 500x1, 550x1, and then 515x1. I'm really hoping for some good carryover to my regular (non-elevated) deadlifts. My ultimate goal for 2009 is to pull 600 lbs.

  • what are you standing on 2 45lb plates and are you wearing socks or deadlift slippers? great job btw.

  • Yeah I just stacked two 45-lb plates to get me the elevation. I'm wearing regular socks and took off my shoes because the cross-trainers I wore to the gy, were too cushy. In competition, I usually dealift in chucks. Thanks bro.

  • great form! nice job! awesome!

    Thanks dude, appreciate it.

  • that looked like it took just about everything in you mate, great job, I'm sure you'll get to 600 by the end of the year, I'm aiming for about 370-400 but I need more weights

You were right, I probably couldn't do 555 lbs at the time; that was a true 1RM. You posted this comment a year ago, and I gotta admit, I never came close to 600 lbs. I changed my training program and stopped powerlifting for a while. I'm recently getting back into the swing of things now. Thanks dude.

  • As long as you can lock it out, you've got a 600 pull from the floor right now man. Just make sure you post the vid!

  • That's an awesome pull bro...we both have the same goal for 2009 - 600 lbs! Although, you are much further along at the moment...but I am working my ass off to try and catch you! So, you better keep at it hard bro...lol.
