I was in the group of people on the hill on the upper left at the begenning of the vid. I barly beat the mass crowd to this spot and got like the absolute last spot to park at the Keddie Bridge.

I hadn't planned on chasing the loco up to Portola, but did anyway, it was pretty fun. As far as Keddie, I arrived around 10:15 a.m., the train didn't show till quarter to 12, it rained pretty much the entire time, and no one cared. Good stuff.

I chased the 844 train through the Canyon. I started my chase off at Poe (west of Pulga) then got it at Tobin, Keddie, Graeagle, & Portola.
I wanted to get 844 at more spots but I got stuck behind this guy who wanted to pace along side the train after the Tobin bridge and he was holding up me and miles of cars just so he could pace along side.
I also shot vids of 844 across the Nevada desert and over Donner Pass as well as the Feather River. I got shots of 844 in 12 diffferent locations

Luckily I left before that and paced the locomotive a little west of Quincy but had respect for others. It was funny watching CHP following along, too. Didn't see any tickets being written.

Yea there were tons of cops up at the hill above the bridge where I was, they actually had cameras of their own and were takeing pics along side of me! LOL!!!

I've run into that along 395 in the fall, people hit their brakes when they see the CHP, when all they're doing is the same thing we're doing...stopping to take pictures of the Aspens turning color!
