These are photographs I took with my Canon EOS 40D SLR (using my Canon L-series 70-200mm F2.8 USM lens and a Tokina 12-24mm wide angle lens for one shot) of the Twilight Tattoo ceremony that the 3rd US Army Infantry Regiment "the Old Guard" conducts in the summer at Fort McNair. The pageant consists of three parts: a performance by a fife and drum band, bayonet drill, and a sort of "US Army through the centuries" display of soldiers dressed in different period costumes. It was quite a show!

  • @tog84 I got to A Co. in Mar 86 when 1SG Huddy was there. We were assigned to 4th platoon which was going to be the new blues marching platoon. Once we were completed we were the only company in the old guard who could do a complete ceremonial hall ceremony by ourselves with no help from the rest of the regiment. SFC Scott was the PSG. My name is Pete McBride. Who are you?
