I listen to this song and imagine the Valley of the great saints; my beloved motherland, Jammu Kashmir. Iqbal originally wrote it for this baeutifull valley of our great saints and his writing perfectly reflects amazing culture, precious, wonderfull and perfect land and virtuous people of Jammu Kashmir. May God bless my homeland, Jammu Kashmir for ever and ever.

Iqbal's ethnic origin was Kashmiri therefore he was a Kashmiri through and through he even died before Pakistan was created. So you tell me how could he have written it for Pakistan which was created after his death by jinnah. Pakistan army uses Iqbal for prpogating that it was his dream.

This is evident from the fact that his poetry was influenced by sufism (which is very ripe in Kashmir), history of shah-e-humdan RA, Mehjoor, Sheikhalalam and other Kashmiri writers and poets.

Hi dear, Iqbal wrote this song for Kashmir not Pakistan, chand is only kashmiri soil not india or pakistan and phool is only kashmir both indian and pakistan occupied kashmir, including galgit, baltistan, islamabad, pindi up to babi-e khibar.

@Drburhan: Sir, I don't know your age, but I'm gonna tell mine. I'm 32 years old. Not very old, but not young enough to be called "Youngster" but believe me, songs like these give me a strange sense of deprivation. I'm deprived of the Pakistan which I've seen from my own eyes and it didn't happen centuries ago. It's just a matter of two decades. I've seen it. Liberal, simple Pakistani Society where we used to watch PTV in open at night and the staf-full sky seemed so benign, so gentle to us...!
