These are the Martin King designed open baffle speakers, incorporating the Fostex FE108EZ full range driver and Eminence Alpha 15A bass driver. Two-way, passive crossover. Very pleased with the sound, they surprisingly handle a lot that is thrown at them.

Please excuse the crappy camera quality sound, and the choice of top grade audiophile music! (song is from the album by the Village People, "Can't Stop the Music")

  • Better Village People than most boring audiophile music bullcrap.

  • Thank you thank you thank you for not playing audiophile weeny music.

    Funky.

  • How much do these speakers weigh? Since there is a lot less weight involved because half the box is "missing", the speakers, especially the woofers, are missing a lot of weight to push off against. Therefor, open baffles need to be really heavy. 100 pounds each, at least. Any level of vibration (on a baffle or box) causes coloration and therefor distortion. A very heavy and stirdy box or baffle will greatly enhance the sound, especially the bass will be firm and fast, very realistic.

  • These sound great, but...how about doing another video with some music

that really shows what these can do. That music doesn't do it justice!

  • hi, how low can they hit?

  • do u cross at 200Hz as MJK does in the pdf?? I'm building a H-frame with double Alpha 15 on each side. Haven't decided what fullrange to choose yet thou...
