  • Nice vid. One question though. Other guys put a piece of film or "blackout film" in place of the IR filter. Did you do yours without that?

  • @00Mandingo00 No I didn't. What purpose does that serve. To reduce brightness or to act as an infrared filter?

  • that ir filter wasnt there before. if youre gonna make a fake, at least make it good and consistent

  • That's why I moved the webcam into the light because it was nearly impossible to see on your own.

  • Good video, i just orded 50 infrared LED's off ebay for £3 or $5 an im gonna make a big lamp to see in the dark its gonna be awsome

  • @thommmiey

Nice, and not a bad price for such a large amount of LED's. But those euros, when I went to Ireland the currency exchange killed me XP

  • just a quick note to everybody who is about to try this. this does work you can see through the dark and its really cool. down sides. make the picture really really blurry so if you use your webcam a lot for skyping or any other way to video chat. do not do it.

  • thank You ... so doing this i setup my webcam outside for sercurity reasons but at night can see jack so hope this work as good as it did for you .

  • lol i removed all of the parts but the filter wasnt there.its stuck under a non-removeable chip and i broke two cameras thanx to you

  • lol i removed all of the parts but the filter wasnt there.its stuck under a non-removeable chip

  • @theredpower same prob

  • The purpose I will use it for is making it a camera that ONLY allows infrared light so I can use it to make a Cheap multitouch surface
