@Areashiftybun perhaps if this series is viewed on its own, its merits become more evident. Of course, i'm 'forced' to compare it to the one that i know. Hence my response to it, maybe. There IS a certain 'feel' to this series, that much is certain from my perspective, and that is a good thing in my view. Thanks for your replies.

@kustomkure yea, I don't know where you have to be from to have him sound middle eastern. I don't really know about accents, but he sounds like a native English speaker (to my ears). Possibly Scottish. Or Welsh? (what is a welsh accent anyway?)
Original Cobra anime was awesome. I might check the new one of these days.

@Vandal49 That's true, but it's not exactly uncommon in manga. I feel that in Cobra, the female characters are usually at least active in the story, fighting alongside or occasionally against the main character. Sure that's a more positive portrayal than the doe-eyed moe blobs we're so often lumbered with these days?

this "review" is too generous, in my opinion. "cobra the animation" sucks. no depth, copy-paste music track, what of a plot?, and cobra is like a 'back-drop' character at best. p.o.s.

@screwaccounts That's fair enough. I didn't mind the new series, but it's not a patch on the original. As far as I'm aware, it is accurate to the source material though - I'm reasonably certain it's all adapted straight from the more recent iterations of the manga. Any drop in the quality of the writing would just be a reflection of that.
