Larry Wessels, director of Christian Answers/Christian Debater (YouTube channel: CANSWERSTV, websites: BIBLEQUERY.ORG, HISTORYCART.COM & MUSLIMHOPE.COM) debates Steve McCalip, author & producer of "KingJamesVideoMan," on the subject of WHO did Jesus die for. Bob L. Ross, leading publisher of Charles Haddon Spurgeon (please check official website: PILGRIMPUBLICATIONS.COM), is the moderator. Educational backgrounds of debaters: Wessels- Bachelor of Science in Advertising from the University of Texas at Austin, completed extension course taught by Dr. J.I. Packer of Regent College, Vancouver, Canada, studied virtually every book or tape produced by Walter Martin of the Christian Research Institute & Dr. R.C. Sproul of Ligonier Ministries, worked with Pilgrim Publications (C.H. Spurgeon) since 1990, attended Dayspring Fellowship of Austin, Texas (Pastor Jackson Boyett, www.dayspringchapel.org) since 1982. McCalip- Bachelor's degree from Baylor University, 2 Master's Degrees in Education from the University of Houston. Theological background: Wessels- Classical Protestant Reformed Doctine, Affirms the Trinity (Father , Son & Holy Spirit), McCalip- Arminian Doctrine, Denial of the Trinity, Affirms King James Bible only. A popular book out is entitled "History's Greatest Lies;" although this book doesn't mention the following it should have: Darwin's Evolution Theory, Global Warming, Muhammad was a prophet of God, the only true "church" is headed by a Roman Pope, etc. Another "greatest lie" would be to say Jesus died for people He did not indeed die for. There are only 3 possibilities: 1. Christ died to save all men therefore all are saved 2. Christ died to save no one in particular (men then must save themselves) or 3. Christ died to save a certain number (who God then actively saves) from eternal damnation in the Lake of Fire. This debate has been going on for centuries & in recent times has had more notoriety because of a book written by Dave Hunt of "The Berean Call" entitled, "What Love Is This?," which makes many of the same emotional Arminian arguments as Steve McCalip in this debate. Multnomah Publishers also produced a book entitled "Debating Calvinism" between Hunt & James R. White of Alpha & Omega Ministries. Ergun Caner of Islam fame has also taken issue with "The Five Points of Calvinism," namely: 1. Total Depravity, 2. Unconditional Election, 3. Limited Atonement, 4. Irresistible Grace, & 5. Perseverance of the Saints. The real question, ""Is God sovereign over man or is man's free will sovereign over God & His purposes?" Who is REALLY in control?
This is just a single episode of a 24 part (10 minute presentation) debate. To see this same 4 hour debate in 1 hour segments as it was originally recorded, copy & paste the following title into the YOUTUBE search box, "DID JESUS DIE FOR EVERYBODY WHO EVER LIVED OR NOT? DEBATE."

John 14:6
I got another one for you. Mat. 6: 5-8 Jesus tells us exactly how and where to pray, but I've seen them standing in circles holding hand on Hollywood Blvd, on school campuses, on public streets and even on national TV praying and crying their hearts out.

@fudgedogbannana As one learns, studies, & understands the Bible from cover to cover one begins to see how human traditions & theologies practiced around the world conflict with the scriptural record. Since our ministry specializes in evangelism & apologetics we are used to rubbing people the wrong way. People never appreciate having their religious traditions exposed by the Biblical record & thus take their anger out on us while preferring to follow the "3 Monkey" approach to religion instead.

Dudes, try MAT.13: 10-16. The disciples ask Jesus why he speaks to the masses in parables. His answer will knock you out. First he tells the disciples that they were "given" to understand ( they didnt learn it, inherit it, buy it, deserve it, earn it or study hard in school), but to masses understanding was not "given", so Jesus spoke in code so that those who didnt understand wouldn't ask him to heal them. I figured if God didnt give you the understanding then He doesn't want you.

@fudgedogbannana Interesting comment! Cross reference Matt 13:10-16 with Mark 4:10-12. In fact, here on Youtube, another segment of this 4 hour debate is entitled, "Mark 4:11-12, Jesus Speaks in Parables So People Will Not be Saved, Why?" (you can find it also by reviewing Youtube videos by CANSWERSTV). Heretical Arminian theology doesn't take into account that Jesus often spoke in parables so people would not understand & thus not be forgiven for their sins; it just doesn't fit their 'gospel.'

@CAnswersTV Yes sir, aint that something? I dont know where some people get the idea that God loves them unconditionally just the way they are. Atheists(god haters) think that God must be a hypocrite because he saves some and not others. I dont claim to be saved, but I understand that God by his very nature will save, heal, bless whom ever he want to, He is God and I am not.

@fudgedogbannana Thank you for the insightful response! It's refreshing to find someone who can clearly see what is going on from an eternal perspective. It seems I must spend a lot of time battling people who want to bring God down to their level so they can control God's actions (which is a ridiculous proposition from the start) but you have precisely put your finger on the real issue, namely, God is in control of His universe & does as He wills to do (Daniel 4:35).
