  • It proves that he actually cared for her and he was really upset that he had messed up a part of her life. Are you aware that the writers wrote the character before they cast Freema? She could have turned out black or white.

  • I have answered your questions. You insult me, so why can't I insult you?

Well duh, he was too ashamed to look at her. He felt bad over what had happened.

The Doctor is too old to be racist. He accepts Jack for who he is, I think he can do the same for someone who's not white.

  • This could have happened to either a Black or White actress. However, Martha was NOT humiliated. Her ending is admired by female doctor who fans. She got out of there herself - using her intelligence to realise that the doctor wasn't interested in her. It has nothing to do with her skin colour. Mickey was a valuable character, just as CrazyOn mentioned. If racism was taking part, he wouldn't have been in the show at all - same for Martha.

  • Also, the writers of the show wanted to make the audience see that the Doctor wont just fall in love needlessly. THIS showed how important his relationship with Rose was. If the doctor began being romantic with Martha, it would have shown he was over Rose - proving the ending of the last series void and unneeded. Thousands of fans would have backlashed at that and commented on its bad characterising of the Doctor - who always remembers.

  • The Doctor cant be racist. Racism runs deeper than just black and white people; and the aim of the show is that he tries to help everyone in trouble. If he was racist, I doubt (that the doctor not being human) he would only be racist to human black girls. He would be racist to aliens, species, and anything else different to him. The whole point of racist people is that they either think themselves above different people or are scared of them. By helping others; he has proved he isnt racist.

  • Can any one please tell me from where can I download the series,PLease I Love doctor who and I canot find the dvds any where, please.

  • Wow nothing like judging people.

I will admit to his flaws. He can be arrogant and cruel sometimes. There I just proved that theory wrong.

The one thing that he is not, is racist. He's too long in the tooth.

He has seen the destruction of his home planet. He's seen people needlessly die. He DOES NOT hold grudges against people for their skin colour. He is smarter than that.

  • To BurnGorman,

From what I've heard of from the Commentaries on the DVD as well as what I've read from other sources, RTD created Martha Jones as a Black character, so I assume any Black actress given the role would have been treated similarly.

  • To CrazyOnDoctorWho,

The difference between us is that you idolize the Doctor and believe hes perfect, incapable of human racist tendencies; I disagree.

  • CrazyOnDoctorWho,

There you go again, insulting me when your incapable of defending your argument. You never answer any of the questions I pose, you just attack. So they tried to make it right by giving Martha a doctor as a fiancée, big deal. While the Doctor is feeling so guilty (about nothing I guess), and confessing all to Donna, does he ever consider apologizing to Martha herself? He didn't apologize to Martha in the few episodes she did in Series 4. In fact the Doc barely looked at her.
