Does the color of your skin dictate whether or not you can get healthy food?

In America, the answer, sadly, might be yes.

When you go into the produce sections of grocery stores that are located in wealthy communities, you'll see fruits and vegetables that most people shopping at typical grocery stores have never seen before. That's why most people can't even recognize a wide variety of fruits and vegetables. This is an example of the socioeconomic discrimination that is taking place as it relates to food distribution and I commend you for speaking out about it.

Somebody ought to tell Oprah about this guy. Talk about fulfilling a dream. He is the author of the book Food Justice, eco-chef and activist for the basic right of nutritian for low income communities.Watch the documentary Processed People. He is one of the twelve people interviewed and this clip is part of his wonderful empassioned interview describing how poor people can and should have access to real food and not the processed high fat, sugar, salt, empty vitamin crap they get dumped on.

I grew in a small town in MS. Well I grew up in a food desert. That is definitely the best name for it. We had to drive thrown 2 towns to get to a grocery store...Kroger. Loved the store for not much variety there. When I moved to Tx and saw the Whole Foods, Central Markets, Trader Joes, I almost passed out!!!!! So much variety in these places. I was so happy :). But felt so sad because my parents still live in the desert :(.

Its the same thing in Hispanic and other immigrant communities. The things that's worse is most of the people living in those low income communities DON'T CARE! If you try to offer ((many)) of them something organic or vegan, they'll ridicule you and look at you like you're crazy or boogie.

this is awesome. i love it. yes, it's true there is food discrimination...we have to drive outside of our communities for descent produce. even the price is different. we even have to pay more for the produce that we do have which is not only limited but subpar in quality compared to those who live in affluent neighborhoods. however, if i have to drive so be it. my good health is well worth the sacrifice but i'd also like to see a change.

You know if you turn that pointy white mask around and put the eye holes in the front, you might start making some sense. Got anything else to say? God is on my side, you are on the losing end because you rely on your own strength. Continue if you will, but for the record I don't take pleasure in punishing the mentally disabled.

I agree with everything you said. NephilimFree the idiot insults black people by subtly implying that black people's eating habits lead to discrimination. In Nephilim's mind, if he can feel better than black people he'll be justified in whatever psychotic existence he believes himself to be. Why should he be taken seriously at the expense of a race that has to put up with more shit than a lazy, white freeloader who spent his whole life taking everything he had for granted.
