@NPRMc Bossy and Gretzky thought fighting should have been abolished entirely. For that they both got branded pussies and honestly, they had no right to say what they said. Not everyone is blessed with the skills those two had and this is a brutal territorial game, if you don't fight, the sticks come up and that could mean career ending injuries.

I have a theory, when you put a stick into a mans hand, he falls back a couple on the evolution chart.........this is hockey.

1) Tiger took this beat down because he went after Bossy. 2) this was only the first fight, Nystrom and Howatt went after Williams later in the game to the point where Williams was sent to the dressing room he was beaten so badly.

To Tiger's credit, he continued to go after guys like Bossy and continued to get his ass handed to him.

Fun fact: Trottier credits Tiger Willams for helping him get to the NHL by teaching and motivating.

@mercyonme7 I'm not being a homer. There are just as many NY fans on those sites as Boston fans, & Dropyourgloves is a regulated site, so all biased reviews are immediately pulled. Regarding if it's the Bruin's year, it's hard to say. Missing Savard hurts. We used to be 3 deep at center with Savard, Bergeron and Krecji, and we arent the same without him. I think it's Vancouver's year. The east is a crapshoot again like last year, & if Sid comes back Pitt will be tough. We have a shot though.

@mercyonme7 Terry smoked him twice. Go to dropyourgloves dotcom or any hockeyfight site and even Islanders fans agree that they split the series 2-2 in the 1980 playoffs. In the first fight of the series, Terry landed 6 punches to Gillies 1 & Terry slips at the end, but it was a clear win for O'Reilly. Gillies clearly won fights 2 and 3 of the series, but hit Terry when he was down in Rd. 3 which is O'Reilly returned the favor in RD 4. Gilles only shot landed while a linseman was holding Terry.
