At least I think it is sung in Neapolitan dialect ....??

Recorded 7th of January 1915. Conductor: Walter B. Rogers.

Since I don't have much data on this song (didn't find any lyrics), I thought I'd bring an anecdote. I've collected a number of quotes and anecdotes on my Caruso website. Here's a funny one:

A group of reporters once asked him what he thought of *Babe Ruth.
Caruso, who was unfailingly polite and amiable, replied that he didn't know because, unfortunately, he had never heard her sing !

*If you are not familiar with American sports, George Herman Ruth "Babe" Ruth (1895 -- 1948) was a legendary [male..] American baseball player.

  • Thank you for the song and for the anecdote!

  • I think this song is in standard Italian, although the quality of the recording makes it hard to tell.

  • Hahaha! I love that anecdote about Babe Ruth! Babe Ruth was a guy, and Caruso probably thought he was a girl. xD
