@MnSPictures Peter said "thou art the Christ" (Matt 16:16), John taught that, "Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God." (I John 5:1). It follows that Peter was born again and in possession of eternal life, yet he did not believe in the resurrection even though it had already occurred (Mark 16:14), and even though Jesus had taught it to him several times (John 2:19, etc). Thus "believing everything" is not a prerequisite for eternal life - faith is a fruit of the spirit.
"...that WHOSOEVER believed in him would have everlasting life." Well satan believes in god, does he not? God's arch enemy "Satan" believes in god. He would have to to be his enemy. And this everlasting life stuff leaves even more questions. What kind of life? Slaves and prisoners have life. Keep your silly little book to yourself.
yeah well look up Antipas of Pergamum. This nicolaitan John Piper! I mean no disrespect to John Piper.. but was hoping for him to reply back and show his christian faith by confirming my statement! Join Roman Catholic Church.. it goes back old school and helped europe out of the dark ages.
@Dystopiologist All you have to do is believe Jesus, not just his existance but everything he says, including his commands to repent. Thats the part many dont get. When you believe Jesus you cant just believe the parts about him you like, you have to believe it all.
@Dystopiologist This is a testament to the universality of God's acceptance and invitation of those who believe in Him. To believe in God is to know Him and as it is expressed thoroughly in the other verses you speak, repentance is necessary. Turning away from evil deeds and expressing a weakness in regards to self-salvation. This repentance is continual, once started in continues through the Christian life. I know because the Holy Spirit speaks to me. Do you believe repentance is needed also?

@shawdawg89 Actually do some research. The roman catholic church put the world into the dark ages by burning the library in Alexandria.

I think the first scripture citation is actually John 1:29. Nice message though. Just wanted to point out that correction.
