The Puffin, built in 1906, is a 21 foot wooden launch, single cylinder steam powered boat. Very quiet in operation. Scrap wood from the boat building projects at the Center for Wooden Boats is used for fuel. 100% bio-fuel from a renewable resource. Here, the Puffin takes a short cruise around the south end of Lake Union in Seattle.

  • Ok Jazzy here That is peacefull music, like the time whenn this and other boats were new and all over those days are saddly over. I wonder if you feel an emotion of the past while mesmorized by the action of such a beautifull little engine. I am 52 and have put my hands on many engines except a steam engine. Good for you keep up that little boat. Its a small headache. I have a 1956 copy of a ChrisCraft Constelation its a constant worry, I have been with it from birth always checking.

  • Nice.
