A small 2W (from the PA) beacon transmitter used to generate a beacon signal on 136kHz. With an "antenna" (nothing in the air!) consisting of 2 earth rods 20m apart in the ground it has been copied 62km away by G3XDV using Argo software on a PC. The transmitter uses a divide by 26 circuit from 3.56MHz (kindly designed and made by Francis F6HSI), a K1EL keyer chip, and an IRF510 PA. The low pass filter uses a small ferrite slab from an old radio.
