I made this box cause my compressor is super noisy. With the box and its insulation inside i can talk to someone without having to turn off the compressor. It makes it more comfortable to work in a small space like my garage.
I have 2 ventilation grids on the side to let the warm air out and fresh air back in. The box is about 25 inches long, 14inches in width and 26 inches high.
I made it big enough so there is enough space around the compressor even with the sound insulation attached. You don't want any warm spots toughing the foam !!
If you have any questions pls message me and i will try to help you as much as i can.

  • Perfect for the little ones. Those direct drive units are F'in lound. The only issue I have with the box is heat. May need a fan and more vents. BUT I guess they are cheap and replacable.

Other option more money for a lower RPM pump. Check our comp out. I can do a vid of it running if you want. It is very quiet for its size and output. Plus the extras are "BEAU"tiful.

  • @yetilikesbeer I will keep a eye on it so it does not overheat

    Untill now everything seems ok

If needed i will install a extra fan

    Thx for your comment

  • I'm sure it helps some but "eggcrate foam" is not a sound proofing material. You need heavy asphalt or even lead impregnated material. Eggcrate foam is to prevent sound reflections inside studios. Just putting in a sealed box is what helps. Don't bother with the foam.
