if this game was going to be a normal 1st person shooter and not a rail it would have been ALOT better

Who is in favor of making a petition not to make it into a rail shooter?

Yet, RE:UC was not nearly as good as RE4 nor will it be any better than RE5, which is not coming to wii at all.

Because on the rails games make you move and you don't ahve to wonder around to find your way back and such. Logic is key.

So, by that logic, movies lack atmosphere?

Gotcha...

We're not talking about movies, we're talking games. What adds to Dead Spaces's atmosphere is that you need to back track, find your own way around the ship, etc. On rails will just move you along making you shoot and then keep moving.

Heck, this is suppose to be a prequel according to IGN as well.

Okay so now backtracking = atmosphere

And because it's a prequel that subtracts from atmosphere as well?

It appears you and I have VERY different views on what constitutes atmosphere, then again, neither of us can be sure due to the fact that the game isn't even out yet.

I'm saying that getting lost in the game adds to the creepy atmosphere. If you don't understand that part, I really don't know how much simply I have to make it.

And the comment on the prequel thing is because yet again, the wii get's slighted, that wasn't about the atmosphere. Comprehension(sp?) is really difficult

Fair enough, but my point is getting lost, backtracking and whatever else along those lines is merely a small aspect of what contributes to atmosphere IMO, I think for you to write off "Extraction" at such a premature stage due to the fact that it's on rails is simply ignorant. Oh and by the way, RE:UC had plenty of tension, if anything, the mere fact that it was on-rails adds a sense of claustraphobia, adding TONS of atmosphere.
