If there is an arrow rest on the bow, yes you should use it. Some bows are set up to just use the arrow shelf itself. You are probably doing a combination of twisting the string and pinching the arrow nock between your fingers when you draw the bowstring back. Either allow more space between the arrow nock and your fingers or if the arrow will hang on the string, try shooting with your fingers below the arrow nock (as I do) so you dont pinch the arrow nock.

thanks..i already lost one arrow...thats a bad feeling...lol,i dont have a finger tab...could i just wear an old glove?...and i dont know if its just me or if im doin somethin wrong, but when i shoot..i almost always shoot high...and im nocking it straight not pointing up...thanks,ill work on it this summer and hopefully get deer number 2 with a recurve instead of a compound

Loosing arrows is part of archery J Yes, you can use an old glove as long as it is leather and it fits snugly. You want the bowstring to slip off your fingers and its difficult to do that with a cloth glove. I use a leather shooting glove myself, never have felt comfortable with a tab.

Shooting high could be many factors, including your nock point on the bowstring. Be sure you have a consistent anchor point then search the Internet for (Traditional bow tuning). You will find lots of info on setting up your bow. The main things you need to look at are arrow rest, brace height, nock point and arrow spine.
