You obviously underestimate the power of the US military. The US navy has more tonnage of ships than the next 13 largest navies combined. The US navy is the 2nd largest airforce in the world, behind the US airforce.

You're also forgetting that we ALREADY have hundreds of thousands of soldiers stationed all over the world, giving us an extreme geopolitical advantage.

most of the militaries in the commonwealth are tiny and meaningless.

@andrewm153351 America is what it is today because of the Empire. But America could not defend itself on 6 or 7 fronts from 54 countries that's ridiculous. The members of the commonwealth are headed by a foreign power? They can remove themselves at any point they want if they are not happy about that... but they don't, I wonder why?? And at the end of the day, the US is superior to the commonwealth. That's all that matters.

@andrewm153351 The British empire today consist of 16 countries not 52 as it once was, the Queen is the head of the commonwealth but she doesn't have the power to dictate what those counties do, they are independent. The commonwealth is a group of countries that share an incredible past and share the same great values which America also shares, being a former colony itself the USA should take pride in its history as the others do, but it doesn't. Instead its to arrogant to recognise its history.

First off, yes, those 45 countries combined still wouldn't be able to beat the US in a war. You have to remember that the US military budget is almost as much as the rest of the entire world COMBINED. Add to that the fact that we have the best military technology, AND a rather large amount of soldiers.

How does the commonwealth have nothing to do with the british empire, yet it's headed by that ugly QUEEN?
