RCMP responding to 2 men with Rifle in Dieppe NB

RCMP responded to a call that 2 men were walking up Virginia in Dieppe with a rifle. RCMP caught up to the pair in front of the Dieppe City Hall on Acadia Ave. They were both checked and permitted to go on there way. You could see the rifle sticking out of the backpack of one of the men. Not the first time people have been checked, ending up being paint ball guns. These 2 were lucky as its usually a HIGH RISK take down .

@ufloetz I live in Canada, I was born here and indoctrinated here. You are trying to say that statitory legislation is a law. I am saying it is a statute, which it is, all acts are stautes. If it was a law, it would be called a law. Municipalities have By-laws, not laws, just like the legislature enacts statues, not laws. The only way to commit an unlawfull act is to 1. Commit fraud in your contracts 2. Be in possesion, or steal someones property 3. Physically harm or threaten to harm someone.

@ufloetz Have to? No my freind, someone who submits applications in order to be permited a licence to cary private property does so on their own accord. Statutory leglislation is given the force of law by the concent of the governed. There is no have to, you choose to, so don't go around telling people they have to do the same as you choose to do.

You can carry a gun here in a city, so as long as you don't point it at anyone and it isn't concealed. I had a glock on my hip and all the cop did was check my ID and said have a nice night.
