How far to the north can tornadoes appear?
These two were filmed in Surgut, Russia.
The city is located north of the 61st parallel.
Just like Anchorage, AK.
So they are not impossible anywhere.
Filmed 9/04/2008.
No one was killed, nothing was destroyed.
In September 2009, a tornado was seen again in that area.

  • Wow, absolutely amazing footage. Were those real powerful tornadoes or "just" waterspouts ? And could you please tell me what the man who was standing near you actually said ? That would be nice. Thanks for sharing ! :)

  • @WRplayer2 They're waterspouts. Most tornadoes in Russia form over water but then they often travel to land. In Sochi (winter Olympics 2014) they often attack beaches. The man was expressing his concern about what could happen to the power plant if the twister got there. I didn't film it, you can find a dozen instances of this file if you search by Russian keywords.

  • @WRplayer2 however look at this one (near Moscow)

    watch?v=3N3ZvVt7Yas (beginning)

    watch?v=3bpryBgGCr8 (aftermath)

65 people injured, 40 big buildings seriously damaged. Roofs and cars were flying around.

  • чёрт, ржунимагуууу ))) ИНОПЛАНЕТЯНЕ ВОДУ КАЧАЮТ БЛЕАТЬ !!! )))

  • time to get my para sail.

  • Yep. Those look like waterspouts, but that far north. This is unusual considering waterspout usually occur in tropical and subtropical latitudes.

  • Funny, they are talking and saying it's as if 'aliens are pumping our water.' When the bus passes by they laugh about the people all looking from the windows. At one point they are discussing that the spout split into two.

  • woaah

  • waterspout/tornado=same thing

  • wow great video, tornado and water spout at the same time

  • These are incredibly photogenic tornadoes. Someone should have took some stills!

  • Biggest quote of the video "Its like motherfucking Aliens pumping our water!" Followed by "Fucking Bitches!"
