Charlie Class interviews Michael Killen about how he goes about making his paintings. Killen points out that the primary purpose of his paintings, the art exhibition and the film Painting to Change the World is to help scientists tell their climate story to the public. Charlie probes Michael to reveal how he comes up with the visual metaphors in his paintings to represent interlinked issues like climate change, the end of the fossil fuel era, human evolution and the rapid decline in the number of species on earth. This is a studio taping session for Painting to Change the World August 19, 2010
