I agree to an extent. Playing music is an expression of self. Unless he is trying to become a professional musician he does not need lessons. So long as a great teacher can be found, lessons will serve to help him. However that is a decision that should be made by him. If he is happy with what he has now then who are we to say it is not enough. If he finds a bad teacher, it would be a waste of time and money anyways.

@Piemaster123100 this is not strictly true, in my experience lessons only confuse and disrupt my progress, I have only ever improved without lessons. The only time piano lessons help in my opinion is if you manage to somehow get a top pro pianist teacher, not your bog standard upright tutor I mean.
