Here's my guess: "Suger Bee" was the Sir Douglas Quintet's first single for Huey P. Meaux back in 1964 on his Pacemaker label. Later, after they'd scored a hit with "She's About a Mover", they recorded a full-length for Meaux's Tribe Records. The version here is the earlier single for Pacemaker and is a completely different recording than the Tribe LP version from 1966. Actually, I kind of like this version better. :)

Song opening is identical to She's A Woman by the Beatles and this song was recorded before the Fab Four did theirs.

They re did Sugar Bee on Midnight Sun, nearly 20 yrs later.
