@asteroceras Yeah, I'm on your side here, although there might be an application for this sort of farming in areas of high population density, such as Hong Kong. And who says these contraptions need to be made of plastic?

Organic permaculture can solve the world's food problems NOW, without the need for unaffordable motorised plastic and metal contraptions. This is a backward-looking regression, taking its inspiration from 1950s sci-fi, not the near-future reality where food from such vertical farms will only be affordable to the richest few.
