John Byrne, the director of the Center for Energy and Environmental Policy, explored how the a sustainable future may include a much greener economy. In this excerpt from his lecture, Byrne warns that if North America and Europe delay major decisions on pollution and greenhouse gas standards, the consequences for the environmental and the economy could be devastating. He highlights that Asian nations, most notable China, may have an edge on leading the green economy of the future.

  • @akinkhoo I am Chinese myself, which I think is in a better vantage point than you on interpreting China's accomplishments.

  • @stephentsang2000 exaggerated or not, it's scale alone have enough influence to fundamentally change the game. this cannot be understated. a 10% adoption rate in China has a larger impact than a 80% adoption rate in France, that is why it is worth paying attention to even if its market actually less matured.

  • China's accomplishments are over-exaggerated.
