@karensarahrocks I don't know if you're joking about the homophobic thing, but Harvest Moon, it's developer, and publishers are cemented within the gaming industry. What does that mean? It means they don't want to attract negative attention to their games, harming their business.
It's not that they hate gays, they just know that subject has been extremely emotionalized and politicized, and they don't want to run the risk of hurting themselves.

@karensarahrocks I love Harvest Moon to pieces but I really wish I could allow my character to be gay. In HM Cute, you could have a 'best friend's ceremony' and essentially be a lesbian and adopt a child but the option was deleted from the English release. Hopefully gay choices will be permanently available some day.

I agree. I really liked this game. But my favorite HM games are still Another Wonderful Life for the PS2 and Save the Homeland for the PS2.
