@NationalMan Why do you keep assuming things? How the heck do you know that EVH can't play decent fingerstyle, or that Charo can't play good rock? You have no idea what they play for fun at home. Did you have the slightest inkling that Jeff Beck could play just like Cliff Gallup until that "Crazy Legs" album came out? He had played that kind of thing all his life. he just never recorded it before.

@NationalMan There's not a thing "advanced" about EVH's solos. He couldn't begin to play a difficult solo and never has in his life. Tapping is hardly work.

@SonyV1U and it would take Eddie a lot of time to play all the stuff Charo could play on acoustic. Because again, he's not used to playing that type of music. But you are right though, I doubt Charo would want to learn how to play EVH solos.

@SonyV1U nope... you are wrong. those solos are not easy to play, they are some of the most advanced solos around. It's different to play them because they were written using a guitar pick which is something Charo is not used to. Plus, a lot of his solos have tapping in them which is another thing that Charo is not accustomed to. I can tell you for a fact, she couldn't pick up an electric guitar and play EVH solos. It would take some time for her to do it.

@NationalMan I'm sure she COULD play electric guitar exactly like EVH if she desired to, and with very little practice. It's not like he's doing anything difficult. But I doubt that she would want to.

@NationalMan And I've been playing for 42-years. So what? Do you honestly think Charo doesn't own a few electric guitars? Instrument manufacturers have been throwing guitars at her since the 60s. Spanish Fly is nice, but it can't compare to what Charo does. And she doesn't just play. She's a great arranger. Her rendition of Malagueana is completely different from anyone else's and is probably the best there is. Eddie would have to study another ten years to play like that.
