the reason why you felt the story was lacking was because you didn't hack... I did them ALL and read all the emails, it fills the backstory and general malaise of the game setting and the brewing conspiracy behind it, as viewing by "normal prople".

The thing I most liked about the game was definitely the message it's passes; and all the moral stuff around augmentations that it makes you thing about.
Oh, and can i say i just love your accent? And sorry for my bad english!

I played Deus Ex in PC and actually I became a FanBoy of it. Its a great game, and it deals a great message. In the ending Adam looks like Rorshak from Watchmen. Never loose your values, never compromise. Its gameplay is very good, many people said to me "Deus Ex is nothing new" and I said to them "This Deus Ex is the third part of a sequel that began on the year 2000" so actually most of the games are based on the first Deus Ex games. All in all its an Epic Master piece for me! Btw great review

@CloudyMemory Yeah they were'nt interesting at all.
The Cobras on the other hand, the reason they lacked personality was because they are all symbols for Big Boss’s emotions as he proceeds through his mission, everything about MGS3 is filled with symbolism for Big Boss.
Like The Boss(The Joy), Cobras, his bandanna, Eva, The Sorrow etc.

I enjoyed this game.
But I have to say that I didn't really feel like replaying it, sadly.

The game was great :D
Agree about the story though, it doesnt really characterise the bad guys. The book does a better job :/ And you have to go reading all the emails to get the most out of the story.

you should work for gamespot not those barbies that do reviews on demand :)
congratulations

I've been watching some of your reviews like this one, AMY and such. They're quite in depth and entertaining. One thing I really like that I don't see in a lot of reviews is the blooper reel at the end. You're probably one of my favorite video game reviewers now. Anyways, keep up the good work. :)

Another Great Review. This game was such a mixed bag for me. Like you, I felt that the design of the world was fantastic and the fashion was first rate. It even inspired me to put an open tag out to my subscribers asking what video game clothing they would like to wear in real life after I saw that Eidos were selling Deus Ex inspired clothes from their website. I also felt that the action sequences worked well as it integrated first and third person perspectives seamlessly.

@LeClassics this is very true.the storytelling of this game is done about 50% through the setting itself and the information you pick up through hacking, emails, and newspapers.you literally step into this world of chaos where you have to actively look for the truth of whats going on,it isnt just brought to you via cutscenes.either way great review,as always :)
Great review! I feel the same way about the antagonists, to me HR's Tyrants seemed kinda like a watered-down version of MGS3's Cobra Unit or something. Great character designs, but really lacking in the character development department. But overall it's one of my favorite games of 2011. Loved the art direction and McCann's score especially, as well as the whole Cyber-Renaissance theme. You said it - it's mostly about the overall feel. Btw. thumbs up for always commenting on the score! ;)

@CloudyMemory Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment!
It's interesting to hear other peoples views on a game whether they are similar or different to my own :D
I'm so glad you enjoy the 'score sections'! It always felt natural to go over the score as it plays just as big a part as other elements in the overall game experience, it's just a shame that the score is often forgotten.
Thanks again for watching and supporting!

I love audition, it is one of the first foreign films I saw; I remember renting it from Blockbuster on VHS, the film was definitely an eye-opener! Thanks for watching and commenting!
