At least in the US they TELL you about possible side effects.

In other countries, they just show a bunch of text for a few seconds too little to read, and in such a small size, you can't even read it on your tv. But, so far, haven't seen a drug with no suicidal/homocidal thoughts as a side effect. Maybe, such thoughts are in fact caused by the people who have them, not the drugs... But they tell you anyway, to cover their asses against lawsuits.

Um...hello, every single drug in the world has side effects, and a whole bunch of them too...next time you get ill and get given some medication, actually READ the info leaflet that comes with it....Anyway, this drug is AMAZING, I have been bedbound for the past 7 months with chronic pain (fybro) and started taking Lyrica 2 weeks ago....I actually managed to do my own grocery shopping today, and no side effects so far. When you are in so much pain, you will try anything, believe me.

@PhysiologicAli it is expensive, but when I look at how much difference my pain levels are, u can't put a price on that. prior to lyrica my fibro was completely debilitating. now that that pain is easing, I can work on my bodys strength.

For me, lyrica has been a life saver. I haven't had any of the side effects except for some dizziness. It has eliminated the fibromyalgic pain for me by about 98%. For the first 2 weeks, I was pretty much stoned/ high and very sleepy, but I'm now able to be more focused without that. I'm on the 75mg. I can't praise lyrica enough, and I have tried a lot for fibromyalgia pain.

I've been treated for the last year with Baclofen and natural supplements like B-12, B-6, D, and a regular multi-vitamin. and it has helped, but only treatment from multiple approaches: massage, yoga, acupuncture, regular exercise, and deep tissue/manual therapy has really helped control it. Additionally a gluten-free diet has helped immensely. There is no magic pill for fibromyalgia but it doesn’t have to destroy you.

There is no generic for Lyrica only an alternative which is Neurotin. You see Lyrica doesn't need to be processed by the liver, goes right through, quick acting but neurotin does need to be processed by liver. So thus the difference and no cheap generic yet that is actually lyrica, just Neurotin.
